William received his Private Pilot Certificate (PPL) with Instrument Rating in 1976. He joined the Black Pilots of America in 1998 and has been participating to the present.

William has been active in the Dr. Albert E. Forsythe Chapter. He has served as the Chapter’s Membership Chairperson 1998 - Present and Has served as the Chapter’s Vice-President 1998-2001. William has served as Co-organizer of the chapter’s hosting of national meetings held in New Jersey in 1999 and 2013. In- addition, he has authored/co-authored 14 articles for the BPA ATIS publications.

William has participated in Eight BPA Board of Directors Meetings, five membership meetings and fourteen Skyhook competitions.
